Pop's Espresso Bar is a local espresso bar located in New Rochelle, NY. They offer a wide variety of pastries, coffees, sandwiches, and so much more at their shop on Huguenot Street. We first discovered them on Instagram, after seeing many Westchester County based food accounts post pictures of their famous "Dannoli". A Dannoli is a glazed donut filled with cannoli cream. Pop's has now started serving this decadent dessert with Nutella or strawberry filling, as well as the classic. Throughout the past year, we have become big fans of Pop's and have been keeping in touch with them on social media. When we heard that they began serving all-day breakfast, we knew we had to come in and try some.
After being greeted by Pop's lovely staff, we sat down at one of their coffee tables surrounded by beautiful plants and paintings. Without a doubt we gave the ambiance at Pop's a 10/10.
With it being mid-afternoon, we ordered a decaf Cortado. It was presented in the most gorgeous way, and it took our love for coffee to the next level.
Our food came out speedy fast and looked prettier than ever. The Baby Kale & Eggs sandwich is pictured in the front, and the Avocado Toast towards the back. The Baby Kale & Eggs sandwich is also made up of Vermont Cheese, Pickled Onion & Tomato Jam on Multigrain Toast. The ratio of egg to cheese to kale was spot on. The combination of protein and veggies in the sandwich is a great way to start your day!
The Avocado Toast was absolutely ridiculous; we're talking NYC quality food in New Rochelle here. Avocado Toast is one of our favorite food groups and we've ordered it in many restaurants in the New York Area before. We have to say, Pop's has some of the best Avocado Toast we've ever tasted. It was so fresh and light. It did not leave us with a huge food baby afterwards, which is a constant struggle for us foodies. The toast is served with Pickled Onion, Mint, Chevre, Peppitas, Lemon and Aleppo Chile.
Lastly, we ordered a side of Sweet Potato Home Fries and the Pop's Chicken Sausage & Cheese. The home fries were perfectly seasoned and cooked. We could not stop eating and dipping them in their special Truffle Ketchup. Side note, when you order breakfast at Pop's, make sure to ask for a side of their dipping sauces. They are out of this world. Now moving on to the sandwich, it tasted like heaven. It consists of beautiful folded eggs and Nonno sauces on and English Muffin, as well as the Chicken Sausage and Cheese. We are so obsessed with the sandwiches we ate that day and are having withdrawals as we write this post.
Onto the grand finale, THE DESSERT.
We were spoiled with Pop's famous Nutella Dannoli, Coconut Macarons and St. Joesph's pastry. All three sweets were unbelievable. We could totally tell they had been made fresh with superior ingredients.
We highly highly highly advise you all to go check out Pop's Espresso Bar. Like we said before, they offer quality New York City #eeeats in suburbia at a great price. Thanks so much to Gio and the amazing staff at Pop's for having us!
